Originally bred as a premier waterfowl retriever, this versatile breed excels as a family pet, service dog, therapy animal, and working dog.

Broad skull with a straight muzzle, friendly and intelligent dark eyes, medium-length dropped ears, level top-line, and a thick, feathery tail carried with a merry motion.

Dense, water-repellent double coat with a wavy or flat outer coat and a thick, soft undercoat. Heavy seasonal shedding twice a year.

History & Origin
Developed in the Scottish Highlands at the Guisachan Estate by Lord Tweedmouth during the mid-to-late 19th century by crossing the Yellow Retriever with the now-extinct Tweed Water Spaniel, with occasional infusions of Irish Setter and Bloodhound.
